Happy New Year!
So much has happened in the last few months. Let’s catch up, shall we?
In September, I started a whirlwind couple of months full of travel. I spent a week at Walt Disney World with a couple of my very best friends. I spent some time in California for work. In October, I spent a week at my mom’s house, and then I spent a weekend in BEAUTIFUL Manalapan, FL for work. I then got to enjoy the beautiful, busy holiday season at home.
In the midst of all of my travel, I began to experience some health concerns that I ignored. Warning-its about to get deep here. I initially had a small about of blood in my stool. November 1st, I woke up with severe pain around my liver. That, along with the blood, was enough to send me to urgent care. They ran tests, and eventually sent me along with a referral to a gastroenterologist with no answers.
The gastro doctor scheduled some more tests, an MRI and a Colonoscopy. I went to my MRI with them knowing I am VERY claustrophobic, I had a MAJOR panic attack. There was no medication or anything. So that’s rescheduled for next week with medication. I then had my colonoscopy. Side note: Get your colon checked! Those results came back. Turns out, there was a tear in my rectum. Hmm, not sure how that happened. Biopsy came back clear from the two polyps he removed.
In the midst of all of this, I decided to take my health in my own hands. Before my visits with the gastroenterologist, I knew that he would tell me I needed to drop weight. So I started my supplements, started going to the gym again and went on a super strict meal plan, free of: gluten, sugar, dairy, nuts, corn, red meat. At the moment, from my very heaviest weight, I have lost 27 pounds! Whaaaatttt!!! I’ve noticed my clothes feeling quite loose. So today, I decided to buy a new dress. I have gone from a size 24 to a size 18/20! I was in tears, happy tears.
I originally started that this blog two years ago to share my healing journey from sexual abuse. While I am most definitely in a better place mentally, I want to change the direction of this blog. I want to share my journey to physical health. I’ll be sharing recipes, products and supplements I use and tips for better health. Disclaimer: I am not a health professional and will never claim to be. I just want to share what’s working for me in hopes that it will help you too.
So, will you join me on this journey? Here’s to a happy, successful, healthy 2020!
